Post RP Heavy Game
I'm wanting to host a heavily RP-centric game. The focus of the game won't be so much who wins or loses, but the journey and experience. Private invites will be sent first, and will go to the waiting list from there. I have no idea how long this will take or how it will go, but I'd prefer players who can be committed for the long haul, in a RP heavy game playing with replacements could prove pretty problematic. Players will need to be committed to the RP aspect so the game may take a long time because a lot of us often have to post in a hurry, atmosphere will take precedence over speed. That being said, it will still be important to log in a regularly as possible to keep the game moving. This game will not be scored on the official board statistics.

Posting:
Players will be expected to post "in character." OOC subtext is allowed to explain what may not be clear.

Map and Setup:
The map will be a 4 ring galaxy with 6 players, I wanted to create an epic scale but not dilute the experience with so many players. I'm looking for ways to increase the ship count per player so the fleets don't get so spread out. The map will be entirely created by GM, with starting positions, units, techs etc to be determined based on the opening setting of the state of the galaxy by the GM. Some systems will be "unexplored" and will be flipped whenever a ship enters the area.

Race Selection:
Races will be selected based on a 3 race preference order sent in by the players. Keep in mind that starting units and techs are irrelevant in this game when choosing your races. It is recommended that you select a race you will have fun playing in character.

Victory and scoring:
Each player will be given (4 or 5) objectives, with subsequent objectives being hidden until the current one is finished. These objectives are not based on VP and are simply marked "complete" when accomplished. Once a player completes their last objective, they are deemed the victor. Once again, this game isn't intended to be completely balanced, and some players could find themselves at a bit of a disadvantage (thought I will try my best to keep that from happening). The focus is on the experience and not who wins.

Racial Techs:
Racial techs are awarded to the players at certain point in the game as they complete their objectives.

Leaders:
Each player will start with all their leaders, and each leader is given an individual ability unique to that leader. Player will be encouraged to use these leaders as a basis for their RP.

Facilities:
Each player will be given one refinery and one colony. In some cases they may be built at the start of the game. These are designed to represent key locations in the galaxy, and will have special abilities associated with them.

Modified Bureaucracy:
A modified #8 SC will be used, since objectives work differently in this game. I haven't decided how to implement this yet,.

Timeline:
I'm not sure when this game will start, and it will take quite a bit of time to set up the map once all the players race choices are in. The story and setup will be created based on what races are chosen. Stay Tuned.

Sounds really interesting. I'd be curious to see where this develops.

Sounds great, I'd be interested if it does not start to soon. I just started another game and would prefer not to start a new one before this one progressed a little bit.

I think I am fairly low on the waiting list but I would be interested for this as well.

This is the ideal game for me!!

Roleplay-heavy? Fantastic.
What's the point of TI3, if you don't
"get into it...!"

If allowed, I'll commit to the long haul. For the first 2 months,
I could log in and post twice a day (most days, at least).

Thanks.
-Brick.

Welcome to the board.

Do keep in mind the pace of games here. You may be able to log in and post twice a day, but most people do not. (I could post a couple dozen times per day, but I'm in the minority.)

There are games where 2 months is just barely enough for one round. A couple of games have passed the 9+ months hallmark. I don't think any game here finished in less than 5-6 months, but e.g. shaunm could confirm that.

Two months may sound like a lot, but on here, it really isn't. It may be enough to set up the board and pick Strategy Cards, but I think for example Way of the Warrior won't even make that. ;)

Not to scare you off, but so you know what you're getting into.

Hey hey!

Been a while!

But a RP game could certainly grab me up to play.

Consider me interested.

Hello, new here, but I'm interested!

I only have one game under my belt (with both expansions), I hope that's OK.
